Miami Heat vs Toronto Raptors Game Review 3/8/20

The Miami Heat went up against the Toronto Raptors today in Orlando. Both teams had already clinched playoff spots before the game with the Heat sat at the 4th seed in the East and the Raptors sat at the 2nd seed.

The Raptors had won their first seeding game against the Lakers yesterday and the Heat won their first game against the Nuggets.75

Fred VanVleet led the Raptors today as he shot 8-16 from the field and 7-12 from 3-point range to score a team high 36 points. He managed to grab 5 rebounds and dish out 4 assists and get 1 steal in 42 minutes of game time. The other starting Raptors guard, Kyle Lowry played 35 minutes and scored 14 points on 2-8 shooting from the field and 1-2 from 3. He pulled in 8 boards, got 5 assists and 1 steal.

2019 most improved player, Pascal Siakam shot 50% from the field, making 7 of his 14 shots and 4 of his 7 shots from beyond the arc. He grabbed 6 rebounds, got 3 assists and 1 steal.

Serge Ibaka came off the bench for the Raptors, he scored 15 points on 7-12 shooting from the field. He pulled in 6 boards in 15 minutes.

Goran Dragić came off the bench for the Miami Heat and was the lead scorer for the team. He scored 25 points on 9-14 shooting, including 3-7 from 3-point range. He grabbed 5 rebounds, got 5 assists and got 2 steals.

Alongside Dragić, Kelly Olynyk and Tyler Herro came off the bench and were essential to the Heat’s offense. Olynyk scored 17 on 6-13 shooting with 4-11 from 3, along with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Herro scored 12 on 5-11 shooting along with 5 boards and 3 assists.

Jimmy Butler played 33 minutes and scored 16 points on 4-9 shooting. He pulled in 7 rebounds and dished out 5 assists, along with 2 steals. Bam Adebayo scored 10 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and got 4 assists and Jae Crowder played 34 minutes and scored 16 points on 6-14 shooting.

The game was relatively close throughout the 4th quarter, but with a couple of unfortunate turnovers by the Heat in the last minute the Raptors were able to pull away and end the game with a 107-103 win.
