Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson purchases the XFL?!

WWE legend The Rock and RedBird Capital are buying the XFL for $15 million.

The XFL is a Professional football league that consists of eight teams split into two divisions. It was formerly owned by Vince McMahon the CEO of the WWE.  The league first made its debut in 2001 but after a few weeks, the league flopped. McMahon would later even call the league a “colossal failure”.

The league returned in 2020 in what was supposed to be an improved league and it was. There were many unique rule changes including a new kickoff system that was a fan favorite. After a few weeks, the league came to end due to COVID-19, and days later the season was officially canceled.

It should be interesting to see what the Rock has in plan for the league. Will, there be more teams added or will they try to continue this league to compete with the NFL.
