These teams will be rated on dominance, record, and talent meaning you won’t see this years Brooklyn Nets team solely because they haven’t even made the playoffs together yet.

Here is a top ten list for the best sports teams assembled.

1.) 1996 Chicago Bulls

Top Players: Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Ron Harper, Steve Kerr.

Is there any surprise here? This 72-10 team may not hold the title for the best NBA record anymore, but at least they didn’t forget to put the icing on the cake. Michael Jordan’s legacy was built in championships, and so was the Bulls morale because of it. Six championships for any team is unbelievable, but they held the record for best team until the Warriors beat it by one win, but did not win the NBA Finals.

2.) 1972 Miami Dolphins

Top Players: Don Shula (Coach), Bob Griese, Earl Morrall, Larry Csonka.

The 1972 Dolphins are the only NFL team to win the Super Bowl with a perfect season. The undefeated campaign was led by coach Don Shula and notable players Bob Griese, Earl Morrall, and Larry Csonka who are now embedded into the NFL Hall of Fame.

3.) 2015-16 Warriors

Top Players: Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Steve Kerr (Coach).

The 2015 NBA season was the year that Steph Curry unanimously won the league MVP honors, something no player has ever done. The Warriors broke the 96’ Bulls record of 72-10, by one win sealing the record at 73-9. One of the most dominant teams ever, but could not win the NBA Finals against LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

4.) 1985 Chicago Bears

Top Players: Jim McMahon, Richard Dent, Dan Hampton, Walter Payton, Mike Singletary, Mike Ditka.

Several NFL Hall of Fame players crack this roster from the 85’ Bears, whom some believe is the best roster put together in the NFL. The Bears finished the season with a 15-1 record and steamrolled past every team they played in the postseason. They went on to win the Super Bowl and build Hall of Fame careers.

5.) 2007 New England Patriots

Top Players: Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Asante Samuel, Vince Wilfork, Mike Vrabel, Bill Belichick (Coach).

One of the most dominating offenses in recent memory was this Patriots squad with Tom Brady and Randy Moss. The Patriots also has Wes Welker who was a speedy slot receiver that was great as well. This Patriots team was the closest a team has been to another perfect season in the NFL, but the New York Giants defeated New England in the Super Bowl.

6.) 1927 New York Yankees

Top Players: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Earle Combs, Mark Koenig, Bob Meusel, Tony Lazzeri.

Two of baseballs best players known in Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig shared the same field and dominated while doing so. Two of the most prolific athletes in general explain just how great this Yankees team is.

7.) 1984-85 Edmonton Oilers

Top Players: Wayne Gretzky, Glenn Anderson, Paul Coffey, Mike Krushelnyski, Mark Messier.

Wayne Gretzky built his Hall of Fame career in Edmonton winning Lord Stanley’s for the Oilers in dominant fashion. Hockey unanimous ‘GOAT’ did not carry the team, but he sure did do a whole lot. Glenn Anderson, Paul Coffey, and Mark Messier picked up defensively while Gretzky did his best on the offensive side of the ice. This is the best hockey team that has skated on NHL ice.

8.) 1989 San Francisco 49ers

Top Players: Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, Charles Haley, John Taylor, Roger Craig, Steve Young.

The dynamic duo of Joe Montana and Jerry Rice was in full swing in 1989 as the 49ers marched there way to the Super Bowl. Hall of Famers Ronnie Lott, Charles Haley, and Roger Craig did there fair share in the legendary season, ending in championship fashion.

9.) 2013-14 Connecticut Huskies (Women’s Basketball )

Top Players: Breanna Stewart, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Bria Hartley, Stefanie Dolson, Kia Nurse.

40-0 and a championship sounds just about as dominant as possible right? This team was destroying other college basketball programs left and right, and by a lot. Breonna Stewart is now in dominating the WNBA as expected. All of UCONN’s top players listed above are in the colleges top twenty in scoring history. Pure dominance.

10.) 1962 Green Bay Packers

Top Players: Vince Lombardi (Coach & GM), Bart Starr, Jim Taylor, Ron Kramer, Tom Moore.

This Packers squad was where football was truly paved. Lambeau Field with Vince Lombardi, winning the Lombardi Trophy. Bart Starr was the QB for Green Bay, and several believe the Lombardi needed Starr more than Starr needed Lombardi. 13-1 record and a 16-7 NFL Championship win earns them a spot in the top ten.
