Top NBA MVP Candidates
The NBA preseason is almost here so let’s get ourselves in the basketball mood here with a breakdown of the top three NBA MVP candidates.
After winning back-to-back MVP’s, Nikola Jokic has opened as an early favorite to win the award for a third consecutive season. Jokic is trailed by Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid , two dominant forces who held their own in last year’s MVP race.

Here are the top NBA MVP candidates.
3) Luka Dončić
Let’s be honest, there’s not many talents in NBA history that do everything Dončić can do. Scoring, passing, faking, leading you name it he does it at a high level on a consistent basis. It’s tough to rank him at three, but with not much dependency around him on offense, Dončić is forced to do too much at times leading to turnovers and defensive breakdowns in the transition game. I still expect an explosive year from the Slovenian superstar.

2) Nikola Jokic
The back-to-back MVP will be a tough feat, but the top player on this list definitely has the accolades to compete. Jokic is another offensive star that lacks help on the roster which leads to a Jokic-centric type of offense. The Nuggets will get back Jamal Murray which should definitely get the workload down for Jokic opening the door for the top player on this list.

1) Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis is my pick for MVP. A player that has an endless motor and a winning mentality pulls him away from the other candidates, not to mention his freakish athletic abilities that make him so unstoppable. Don’t overthink it, Giannis for MVP.

Honorable Mention : Embiid, Curry, Durant
