Timberwolves 2022 Mock Draft 3.0

Today I’ll be breaking into a new Timberwolves mock draft WITH trades. Basically, I’m doing this on Fanspo’s mock draft simulator, I pick manually for the wolves and the computer does the rest of the picks.

TRADE🚨: The Timberwolves trade the 18th pick, the 41st pick & the 52nd pick for the Hornets 14th overall pick.

The Hornets get two seconds for trading back 4 spots, and they are in a better and more realistic range to take a guy like Mark Williams or Walker Kessler, guys they really need. And the Timberwolves trade into the last pick of the lottery to get a guy they could really want.

The pick: Tari Eason, 14th overall to the Timberwolves. Tari Eason recently declared for the NBA draft, he’s a 6’8 forward from LSU. Eason is a 20 year old sophomore that mostly came off the bench for LSU, playing a similar role as what Scottie Barnes & Patrick Williams did with FSU. In 33 games Eason put up 16.9PPG/6.6RPG/1.0APG/1.9SPG/1.1BPG on 56/35/80 splits.

Eason is a super dynamic defender that can guard 1-4. He’s quick in transition, really elite athlete. Can rebound well. And even developed his shot throughout the year. About 15 games into the season, Eason was shooting 26% from 3 on 2.0 attempts a game, now he’s up to 35.9% on 2.4 attempts a game. That means he probably shot over 40% from 3 in the second half of the season, on still a smallish sample of threes per game.

Eason would fit fantastically in Minnesota’s scramble/energetic defense. He’s a fantastic athlete that’s learning to space the floor. Also the Timberwolves highlight tapes would somehow get even better, he’s had some pretty insane posters within the last season.

Since I traded away two of our second round picks, we only have one left, and that’s the 48th pick. With the 48th pick, the Minnesota Timberwolves Select Johnny Juzang, UCLA.

Juzang is a Junior putting up 15.6PPG/4.7RPG/1.8APG/0.7SPG/0.1BPG ON 43/36/83 splits. Juzang is a fantastic scorer inside and out. He’s really nice in the mid-range, and just generally knows how to get a shot.

Eason & Juzang are this mocks picks, I really think trading up for Eason is something Minnesota should do!
