Knicks Acquire Cam Reddish From Atlanta

The New York Knicks have acquired Cam Reddish from the Atlanta Hawks for a protected 2022 first-round selection.

Over the three year career of the Duke graduate, Reddish has posted 11.1 PPG, 3.4 RPG, & 1.4 APG in just over 26 minutes played. The fit with Reddish and the Hawks has always been questionable, and reports were pointing to him eventually being traded, and he is now officially a Knick.

The 6’8”, 22 year-old shooting guard is set to join a roster full of shooting including former Duke teammate, RJ Barrett. Barrett has averaged 16.3 PPG over his career, and with a strong relationship and chemistry, that could continue to rise.

As for the Hawks, they have had trouble fitting in key stars like John Collins and Cam Reddish, and don’t hold a strong standing in the East at 17-23, the 12th team in conference.

The Knicks look for an extra offensive push with Reddish in the mix and sitting at 21-21, this looks like something they desperately need.

As for a winner of this trade, literally only time can tell as it depends on what Atlanta decides to do with their newly secured draft pick. Do they trade John Collins and less valued picks for another star aside Trae Young? We shall see.
