The young duo of Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr shines against Los Angeles Lakers.
Despite the Houston Rockets losing to the Los Angeles Lakers tonight, the young guns of the Rockets really showed up.
It was Kevin Porter Jr’s first game back from a thigh injury and Jalen Green’s second game back from a hamstring injury. Porter Jr ended the game with a stellar 22 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds. Porter Jr surprisingly shot the ball at a consistent 8/17 from the field and 4/9 from deep. For the season, Porter Jr has put up a shocking 36.5% from the field, and 32.8% from long range, so hopefully tonight’s game was a sign of great things to come.
Jalen Green has been on every Rockets fan’s mind. The entire league has been framing Green as a bust and similar names, but let’s be honest, Green is an elite player. Tonight, Jalen Green ended up with 24 points, 4 assists, and 2 rebounds. He shot the ball at a very efficient 50% from the field and a 44% from beyond the arch. Green also showed off his bounce with multiple highlight reel clips and was not afraid to let Lakers star Russell Westbrook know.
Over all a great night for the Houston Rockets despite the loss. They were simply out-played down the stretch. As a Houston Rockets fan, I am excited to see this back-court duo develop.
