Nets Rookies Cam Thomas and Kessler Edwards impress again
The Brooklyn Nets were one of the first teams this season who were heavily hampered by injuries and Covid safety protocols. Kyrie Irving and his issue regarding the Vaccine and James Harden recovering from the Hamstring injury he suffered during the playoffs were already enough to start with. However, one of the best 3P shooters in the league Joe Harris was ruled out for 4-8 weeks with an ankle issue. Important vets like Lamarcus Aldridge, James Johnson, Paul Milsap and Jevon Carter were ineligible to play because of the Safety Protocols.
In these tough moments and short rotations Coach Stever Nash was forced to utilize his rookies and youth to get Kevin Durant some help. LSU Guard Cam Thomas who had already shown glimpses of his shot creation and volume scoring ability in the Summer League was the first Rookie expected to step up. In addition to that, Rookie Forward Kessler Edwards was also added to the rotation in an important game vs the 76ers at the Barclays.
