Houston Rockets call up Usman Garuba from Rio Grande Valley Vipers

Rookie Usman Garuba has been officially called up to the Houston Rockets from g-league affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

For the Vipers, Garuba has been averaging 9.3ppg, 9.3rpg along with 1.3spg. Garuba was the 23rd pick in the 2021 NBA Draft but has yet to see much playing time. Previously playing professionally for the Spanish club Real Madrid, Garuba came into the draft known for his renowned defence ability.

Garuba will most likely look to be used off the bench as Houston approach a back-to-back with Cleveland on Wednesday and New York on Tuesday.
