Damian Lillard and Ben Simmons are the most preeminent names as free-agency settles down. The Blazers haven’t handled the offseason the way Lillard would of liked. Lillard has publicly stated countless times that he wants to stay with Portland, but he’s urged the front office to build a championship contending team around him. So far, they added Chauncey Billups as a coach, acquired Ben McLemore, Tony Snell, Cody Zeller, and re-signed Norman Powell. Atop of all this, Portland exited the first round of the playoffs for 3rd time in 4 years and aren’t constructing what Lillard’s clamored for.

Lillard is an interactive player in today’s game and decided to hop onto Instagram Live after his new album ‘Different on all levels’ dropped. The superstar answered a question that asked if he was going to leave the Blazers. Lillard shortly responded and opened the path for a potential trade request soon amid rumors. He reassured that he has no plans of departing from Portland, right now at least.

The most likely scenario for a Lillard departure is during the trade deadline nest season, if Portland gets off to a slow start. The 76ers have been linked to Lillard for months and are patiently waiting to package a reasonable deal if Lillard requests a trade.
