The season is sadly over and the offseason has been semi-entertaining through the first few weeks. QBs like Matt Stafford and Carson Wentz have moved cities, stars like JJ Watt have been released, and more and more draft talk stirs each and every day.

Reports are even coming out about some scouts believing Zach Wilson will be better than Trevor Lawrence, so you could say this offseason remains busy as always.

The NFL draft is approaching and April will come sooner than most expect and the Jaguars are currently on the clock, with the first pick. Most believe it belongs to Trevor Lawrence, but nothing is official yet.

Let’s look who cracks the first round in this years NFL draft.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars were just a touchdown away from a Super Bowl matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017. Jacksonville came up just a play short, but little did they know they would heavily decline offensively and defensively and lose some key players just a season later. Now, they have a chance to wipe that all away. There’s a new coach in Urban Meyer who seems to have his Jacksonville squad hype already, select Trevor Lawrence and throw away the rebuild mentality.

2. New York Jets

Sam Darnold is a name to watch this offseason as the Jets have been taking calls on the 23-year-old QB. If traded, it’s a toss up between QBs Zach Wilson and Justin Fields with the 2nd pick, and Wilson is considered much more NFL ready than Justin Fields around the league.

3. Miami Dolphins (via Houston Texans)

Brian Flores and the Dolphins have bought all in on Tua Tagovailoa long term development, and they happen to be a team that has possible interest in a Deshaun Watson trade, so that most likely rules out a QB at #3. With that being said, Mimi was just a win away from making the playoffs switching between QBs all season, so they’re just a piece away from being a contender. The defense is already solid, so I envision Miami going offense; offense as in the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Devonta Smith. Smith already has a connection with Tagovailoa from their Alabama glory days, and the Dolphins believe receiver Devante Parker is a true #1 receiver.

4. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons are a team that needs to begin a transitional change to a younger roster. Julio Jones and Matt Ryan have both had magnificent careers in Atlanta, but that will most likely on last for one more year. Starting this transition will have to start at QB having the Falcons select Justin Fields out of Ohio State.

5. Cincinnati Bengals

Before injury, Joe Burrow looked to be an elite rookie talent coming out of LSU. The reason behind his injury was the Bengal inability to surround their #1 overall pick with protection, leading to a complete ACL year. With all that in mind, this is an easy pick at #5 with the best lineman in the draft in Penei Sewell.

6. Philadelphia Eagles

We sit here today looking at the Eagles and laugh wondering how a Super Bowl winning team has sunk into this position. After a dramatic season of pointing the finger, the Eagles surprisingly don’t have much to figure out besides the cap issue and receiving help. Several reports have the Eagles high on this drafts QBs, but simplicity tells us that Jalen Hurts will start and Philadelphia will surround him with weapons which they failed to do with Carson Wentz who they traded to the Colts. Nothing would stop the Eagles from selecting JaMarr Chase if available.

7. Detroit Lions

The Lions made a huge offseason splash with their trade to send Matthew Stafford over to the LA Chargers in return for Jared Goff and draft assets. The Lions problem has always been their offense, as they have had stars like Stafford, Kenny Golladay, and Marvin Jones all in the same offense for multiple seasons. With Golladay and Jones both up for grabs as free agents, look for Detroit to pick up the next available receiver to help Goff.

WR Jaylen Waddle, Alabama

8. Carolina Panthers

Carolina is reportedly another team that’s very interested in a traditional involving Texans QB, Deshaun Watson. If they don’t land Watson, they will need to get a QB this draft because they obviously do not believe in Teddy Bridgewater as their future QB. Trey Lance is next up on the QB big board and is taken by Carolina.

9. Denver Broncos

The Broncos could easily be a playoff team if it weren’t for two things; one being a constant QB issue, and two being Patrick Mahomes owns the AFC West. The defense is on the older side as well so this pick could go on either side of the ball. The defense looks like the most needed spot for depth moving into next season, especially in the secondary.

CB Caleb Farley, Virginia Tech

10. Dallas Cowboys

With a healthy Dak Prescott, anything is possible for this Cowboys squad, as we saw the Cowboys March back several times last season with Prescott under center. The problem easily was the defense, cornerbacks to be blunt. Dallas grabs the next available corner with their 10 pick.

13. Los Angeles Chargers
