The No. 3 ranked Indiana Hoosiers have defeated the No. 23 ranked Michigan Wolverines, 38-21. This is Indiana’s first win over Michigan since 1987. Indiana was up at halftime, 24-7, and kept it steady the rest of the way.

Indiana was led by quarterback, Michael Penix Jr., who threw for 342 yards, and 3 touchdowns. Penix Jr. is off to a fantastic start to the 2020-2021 season. Running back, Stevie Scott III, ran the ball 24 times, for 97 yards, and added another two touchdowns. Ty Fryfogle had a monster game at the receiver position. He caught 7 passes for 142 and a touchdown. Wide receiver, Whop Philyor, was solid once again in the contest.

Joe Milton, despite throwing for 344 yards in a loosing effort, was hurt by the turnovers. Milton threw two interceptions. Michigan couldn’t get the run game working as the Wolverines only ran for a total of 13 yards.

Indiana will go on to face a 1-2 Michigan State Spartans team that has dropped ugly games to Rutgers and Iowa. Michigan will look to rebound, after failing to secure a win in the past two weeks, against the current 10th ranked team in the country, Wisconsin.

The Indiana Hoosiers now have a chance to climb into the Top-10. While Michigan, on the other hand, will fall out of the Top-25.
