Several Teams Have Reached Out to the Pistons About Blake Griffin

Back in 2019, Blake Griffin was one of the best players in the league.

In what some may say was his best season of his career, Blake Griffin averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. He did that while shooting 46.2% from the field and 36.2% from deep.

Unfortunately, after that incredible regular season he had a knee injury that sat him for the better part of the 2020 season.

In 2020, he only averaged 15.5 points on an abysmal 35.2% shooting and 24.3% from deep.

Despite that horrible performance last season, Blake has proven to be affective when healthy and several teams know this, and are interested in trading for him.

Although none have been disclosed yet, we can narrow down a few teams that have use for the 6-time All-Star:

1. The Golden State Warriors

The Warriors almost have their team set, but they lack an effective big man. Blake Griffin could fill that hole and bring that team to the next level.

It is well known that the Warriors are targeting Dwight Howard, but if they want to add another all-star, then Blake is another good option.

Blake would play Center the the Warriors’ small-ball lineup.

He would fit in very well since he can shoot threes and is still an impressive rebounder.

2. The Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets are going to attempt to rebound after their small-ball experiment. They traded Clint Capela to the Atlanta Hawks to test out position-less basketball, and it failed.

Now the Rockets need a new big man to replace Capela, and Blake could be just that.

With a trio of Westbrook, Harden, and Griffin, the Rockets could be true contenders in the West and finally break the glass ceiling that is the Conference Finals.

3. The Portland Trail Blazers

The Trail Blazers are one piece away from being true contenders, but Lillard and McCollum isn’t quite enough. The missing piece could be Blake Griffin to get them over the hump.

A starting lineup that has Lillard, McCollum, Griffin, and Nurkic is a team that could rival the Lakers or Clippers. If Blake can get back to his 2019 form for this team, the Trail Blazers could be the favorites to win the title.
