Bills Release Left Guard, Quinton Spain
The Buffalo Bills have release left guard, Quinton Spain, a surprising move considering the linemen signed an extension just months ago. Exactly seven months ago, Buffalo and Spain agreed to a three year, $15M extension.
The Bills linemen on both offense and defense have been underperforming each week, as Spain was benched in favor of Cody Ford by week three.
After the benching, Spain made it clear something needed to change, as he took his thoughts to Twitter.
“I can feel it in the air,” the veteran guard tweeted just last week.
It was evident last season that Spain had his best season yet in 2019 since entering the league undrafted in 2015, which is where he earned his extension.
Spain was on the injury report after the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, with a knee injury. The injury is not serious, and Spain is expected to sign with a team soon this season.
Spain could have several immediate suitors as a free agent, with teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Philadelphia Eagles who are all in obvious need of reinforcements up front.
