We all have our own ways to deal with disappointments. Denver Broncos Running Back Melvin Gordon decided that he would deal with it by getting drunk………

and then driving home while drunk.

Gordon was frustrated that his and the Broncos’ game against the New England Patriots was cancelled after they practiced all week and got ready for the game.

As he was driving home, he was reportedly driving 71 mph on a 35 mph road at 11:43 on Tuesday at 5th Avenue and Speed Boulevard.

When hew as pulled over by police, the cops reported they smelled alcohol from his breath and asked him to take a field sobriety test.

Gordon consented to the test and failed, and is now facing a DUI charge.

Because of this situation, it is unlikely that Gordon will be able to play on Sunday, so if you have him on your fantasy team, (like me) then be sure to bench him as Phillip Lindsay will be getting the bulk of touches as Gordon sorts this out.

Gordon’s teammates say that they are here to help. Drew Lock said “of course, I was upset, but we’re also here for him. It’s like having a brother that gets in trouble.”

Gordon was not at practice (obviously) on Wednesday and is likely to sit out the week.

“I didn’t want him practicing today until we get to the bottom of everything.” Head coach Vic Fangio said. “Talk to the league, get all the facts in order before we make a decision on what we’re going to do and weigh the difference between what the mandated league punishment will be and anything we want to do in addition to that.”

Gordon will likely be back on the field before the end of the year, but it will be a bit before we see him again.
