Lewis Hamilton Named one of Time’s Most Influential People of 2020
Formula 1 World Champion, Lewis Hamilton has been named as one of the most influential people of 2020 in Time 100.
Hamilton’s profile is written by Bubba Wallace who is the only black driver in the American NASCAR stock series.
Wallace wrote, “I’m the only Black driver in NASCAR’s top level. So Lewis’ example —as the lone Black F1 driver—is particularly meaningful for me.”
He said that watching Hamilton dominate the track most weekends motivates him to try and do the same.

Wallace wrote that Hamilton’s activism has moved the world. He has brought international attention to the Black Lives Matter movement, through both his social media presence and at Formula 1 events.
Also written on his profile was this, ” Lewis’ mental preparation, his aura, his ability to capitalize on every opportunity to use his platform to drive out racism are more than just a model for race-car drivers and other athletes.”
Wallace said that Lewis Hamilton is an “inspiration for everyone.”
Hamilton was named as part of the Titans category alongside Super Bowl-winning Quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Hamilton has been at the center of the demonstrations that F1 have done this season. He is seen as the face of the demonstrations as one of the greatest drivers of all time and the only black driver in the sports history.
Lewis is one win away for tying Micheal Schumacher’s record of 90 Grand Prix wins and could achieve it at the Russian Grand Prix this Sunday. He could then break the record at what would be Schumacher’s home Grand Prix in Germany.
Hamilton is also poised to win a record equaling 7th Driver’s World Championship.
