Dana White: Furious at UFC superstar and former champion Conor McGregor
Former two division UFC champion Conor Mcgregor last fought in January against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone where we saw him dominate, earning a 40 second TKO over the UFC veteran.
There have been reports of him being in talks with a multitude of opponents such as Nate Diaz, Kamaru Usman, Jorge Masvidal, Tony, Ferguson, Dustin Poirier, and even more. Despite all potential bouts for McGregor, all bouts fell through and never even reached the works stages.
There was speculation in the media that McGregor did not want to fight this year, so he thought there was no other way than to clear the air on twitter.
McGregor released screenshots of direct messages with UFC president Dana White, showing clearly that he asked for a fight against legend Diego Sanchez however, there are a couple of problems with this.
McGregor only a month prior to asking for this fight against Sanchez, beat one of the best 170 pound fighters in the world when he defeated Donald Cerrone. Sanchez now, and even at the time was an unranked fighter who may be looking to retire soon. Names Dana White mentioned when picturing Conor’s future at welterweight included a potential trilogy match with Nate Diaz, Kamaru Usman, and even Jorge Masvidal. Certainly a fight against Sanchez was never in the picture.
The UFC president was asked about McGregor releasing direct messages and private conversations with White, and he did not seem too happy.
