Reports surrounding Denver Nuggets power forward, Jerami Grant, state that the 26 year old is likely to opt-out of his current $9.3 million contract with the team.

Grant is in the last year of a player option. The nephew of former 3 time NBA champion and 1994 all-star Horace Grant, displayed immense versatility during the 2020 playoffs.

His stats did not increase but he was constantly tasked with guarding the opposing teams best players due to his athleticism and Jokic’s lack there of.

The power forward out of Syracuse was tasked with defending LeBron, Kawhi and Paul George during the playoffs where he helped manage Denver’s defensive liabilities in the frontcourt.

He is expected to sign anywhere between $14 to $16 million over multiple years.

If there is anything the bubble has taught us, it’s that anyone can be a star. From the rise of teammate Jamal Murray to the quiet standout performances such as O.G Anunoby of the Raptors.

Grant proved that he is more than capable of not only getting his bag, but also that he can be a critical piece on a contender in the years to come.
