When Lebron was in Miami, of course the expectations were championship year in and year out, but they have also had some very impressive over achieving seasons.

This year for example, after missing the playoffs last season, they are now two wins away from the Finals. They did add a big piece in Jimmy Butler, but a lot of unheralded guys like Herro and Robinson have outperformed expectations under Coach Spo.

Despite never having a coach of the year award, Spoelstra’s ability to lead teams to surprising success, and manage superstars has been very evident. At Miami’s peak, they were a dominant force, but also a team with a lot of egos and stars to manage. However, they still made four consecutive finals, and got two championships.

Throughout his coaching career, Spo has been a model of consistency. The Heat were never an easy out, no matter the players they had at their disposal.
