After much speculation of Lionel Messi’s next chapter in his career, the Argentine has decided to stay at the Camp Nou.

Manchester City were favorites to sign him as Pep Guardiola manages the side and spent 4 years managing Barcelona previously which is where Pep and Messi tackled the world of football snatching multiple championships with each other. After the 8-2 defeat in the Quarter-final of the Champions League to Bayern Munich it seemed apparent that Lionel Messi was not pleased with Barcelona which sparked an uproar in the football world. Ultimately Messi and Barcelona agreed on him staying at the club as Barcelona believe he is valued at £700 million.

Messi came out in response to his decision by saying, “…Now I am going to continue in the club because the president told me that the only way to leave was to pay the €700 million clause, and that this is impossible.” He followed by saying that the only way out would be by taking Barcelona to court, but could never fathom doing that to the club he loves. Lionel Messi the legend who has been with Barcelona since 2004 will take a pause with the next chapter of his life and stay with the Blaugrana.
