Billy Donovan Finishes Third in “COTY” Voting
Thunder head coach, Billy Donovan, finished third in the Coach of the Year voting. In first place was Raptors coach, Nick Nurse, and in second was Bucks coach, Mike Budenholzer.

Nick Nurse won the award by a mile. Nurse took 90 of the 100 first place votes and received 470 total points. After losing Kawhi Leonard in free agency, the Raptors were expect to be an average team in the lower seeds of the playoffs, but with Nurses incredible coaching on the defensive end and team chemistry, the Raptors finished with the second best record in the NBA.
In second place was Mike Budenholzer of the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks were deemed contenders for the championship before the season and lived up to that title this season. The Bucks finished with the best record in the NBA and were nothing but praised the entire season.
In third was Thunder head coach, Billy Donovan. The Thunder were given a 0.2% chance by ESPN to make the playoffs and the Thunder exceeded all expectations. The Thunder surged after Thanksgiving which landed them in the fifth seed for the playoffs. The strong play displayed by the Thunder landed Billy Donovan in third place for Coach of the Year voting.
