Underrated Beasts: Matt Thomas

0

Matt Thomas was an undrafted player from the 2017 NBA Draft, however, this is considered his rookie season.

Although he hasn’t played many minutes and has only played half of the games, he has shown talent as an incredible three-point shooter and has a ceiling as high as Kyle Korever.

During the season, although Thomas only averaged 4.9 points, he managed to shoot 47.5% from deep on 2.4 shot attempts.

It wasn’t until the bubble, however, that Matt Thomas began to show what he really could be.

In the bubble for the 5 games he played at least 10 minutes, he averaged 10.4 points per game on 52.2% shooting from deep on 4.6 attempts per game. He even had a career-high 22-point night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Thomas has the potential to become one of the best shooters in the NBA. He’s only 26 years old with plenty of room to grow, especially since shooters tend to stick around for longer.

Players like Luke Kennard, Kyle Korever, Seth Curry, and so many more have been very successful in the NBA, and Thomas could be next in line.
