The NBA Bubble Awards Have Been Announced

After eight intense games from every team in Orlando, the NBA decided that they were going to make a Bubble MVP, Coach of the Bubble, and All-Bubble Teams.

They made these awards because the Bubble play does not affect the awards for the regular season.

For the Bubble MVP, there were three real contestants: Devin Booker, Damian Lillard, and TJ Warren.

Booker led his team to an 8-0 record in the Bubble, Lillard willed his team to the #8-seed for the playoffs, and Warren managed to average a solid 31 points per game in the bubble.

In the end, though, the vote was unanimous in favor of Damian Lillard.

In the bubble, Lillard averaged 37.6 points and 9.6 assists per game, while shooting 49.7% from the field and 43.6% from deep.

Although it’s somewhat surprising that is was unanimous, Lillard was the clear choice for MVP.

As for Coach of the Bubble, that award went to Monty Williams, the coach of the Phoenix Suns who helped the Suns go 8-0 in the bubble, even without their starting Small Forward, Kelly Oubre Jr.

The NBA Play-in begins today at 2:30 where Lillard and the Blazers face off against Morant and the Grizzlies. Be ready for the playoffs to return!
