MLB’s Field of Dreams Series Between the Cardinals and White Sox has Been Canceled.
The 2020 “MLB at Field of Dreams” in Dyersville, Iowa has been cancelled due to the Corona virus pandemic.
The game was initially to be played in 2020 between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees. The game was planned for August 13th and was going to be played at the legendary “Field of Dreams” from the movie of the same name. The game was going to be played on the same field used from when the 1989 movie was filmed. The stands that hold approximately 8,000 fans were built specifically for the game.
With the new scheduling for the 2020 season, the White Sox were going to play the St. Louis Cardinals instead, however, due to the Cardinals having an outbreak of Covid-19 within the team, and as well as other logistical issues, the game has been officially canceled and will be rescheduled for 2021.
The White Sox were going to be the home team, since the movie, “Field of Dreams” is about the White Sox and they will be when the game is eventually played in 2021 against a currently undecided opponent.
