Los Angeles Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth has said he and his family have all tested positive for Coronavirus.
“It was definitely a scary thing and I realize how contagious this is,” Whitworth said, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
Whitworth made the announcement during an NFLPA video conference with various reporters earlier today. He mentioned how one family member went out to have lunch with a friend and ended up contracting the virus. It is unknown if it was from the friend or a random pedestrian nearby. Not only was Whitworth’s entire family infected from him and his kids, but his father in law was hospitalized and has since returned home.
Whitworth shared his story in order for people to take precautions and understand how contagious this virus is. He now becomes the second Rams player to attract the virus as center Brian Allen was the first known NFL player to contract the virus.
