Zion Williamson Leaves NBA Bubble Over Family Emergency

Pelicans’ young star Zion Williamson announced that he is leaving the NBA bubble in order to be with his family.

“We fully support Zion’s decision to leave the NBA campus to be with his family out of respect for the Williamson family, we will have no further comment at this time.” Said Pelicans Executive Vice President, David Griffin.

Williamson had an incredible few games when he was with the Pelicans, averaging 23.6 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 58.9% from the field.

The Pelicans are going to need him to compete in the play-in for the #8 seed.

Before he can help the team, however, he will have to go into quarantine upon his return.

If Williamson returns within a week, he will quarantine for four days and be tested. If he tests negative for each of the four days, he will be free to play with his team.

If he is absent for longer than a week, however, he could quarantine for up to ten days.

The length of his absence could have major implications for the Pelicans. Obviously, family comes first, but the Pelicans need him to make a run at the playoffs.
