Wizards pay Tribute to Wes Unseld
The Washington Wizards have announced that during the continuation of the NBA season in Florida, their players will wear jersey patches on the upper-right shoulder with the number 41 on to pay tribute to franchise legend Wes Unseld.
“Wes was a great player and a tremendous human being who all we admired as a pillar of this franchise for so long. We are honoured to pay tribute to him as an exceptional leader whose contributions both on and off the court left an indelible mark on this organization.”
Ted Leonsis
Unseld holds the franchise record for games played and he is 1 of 5 wizards players to have had their number retired. He was a one time NBA champion and one time NBA MVP.

How the franchise will pay tribute to him in the 2020-2021 season is yet to be announced.
