Titans’ hand Derrick Henry 4-year contract

Derrick Henry has reached an agreement with the Tennessee Titans a 4-year contract worth $50 million and holds up to $25.5 million guaranteed money. 

The powerhouse back will now be locked in Tennessee until 2024 along with his contract his 1-year $10.278 million franchise tag is included. Henry is now the fifth highest-paid running back in the league with an annual salary of $12.5 million.

Henry is coming off a season where he was the league’s leader in rushing yards, carries and rushing touchdowns with 1,540 rushing yards on 303 carries and 16 rushing touchdowns. Also setting a personal best in the passing game as he recorded 18 receptions for 206 yards. Henry was a huge part in leading the way for the Titans to come back from a record of 4-5 and finishing the season with an impressive record of 9-7 just squeezing into a wild card spot.

Henry came up huge in the wild card vs the Patriots as he rushed for an impressive 182 yards on 34 carries and was able to squeeze in for a touchdown. After that impressive win, King Henry solidified his importance on the Titans’ roster as he single-handedly carried the offense to a win. The following week the Titans would pull off another impressive win against the #1 seed Baltimore Ravens where Henry rushed for 195 yards on 30 carries in one of the biggest upsets in recent history. The following week the Titans would be shut down including Henry as he would rush for only 69 yards on 19 carries and 1 touchdown. In three playoff games, Henry rushed for an impressive 446 yards on 83 carries. 

Now the 6’3” 247lbs is coming into the season with more hunger than ever and will prove why he is one of the best in the league.
