D’Angelo Russell Wants the Timberwolves to Draft this Prospect:

0

The 2020 NBA draft is about 3 months away and the NBA draft lottery is just over 6 weeks away. Despite this, D’Angelo Russell, the 24 year old All-Star guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has made it clear who he wants the Timberwolves to draft with this Snapchat Story:

In a draft without a consensus top prospect, Anthony Edwards is the closest thing to that. For the Timberwolves, the idea of having a three headed monster of D’Angelo Russell, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Anthony Edwards is certainly quite intriguing. The question is: The Timberwolves already have Malik Beasley, who was averaging over 20 points a night after being traded from the Denver Nuggets, as well as Jarrett Culver, a combo wing who was the sixth overall pick in last year’s draft, should Minnesota really target another young talented wing?

The Timberwolves are still in desperate need for more high-end talent, despite having multiple talented wings, a franchise guard, and a franchise big, they aren’t in position to do what teams like the Trailblazers did when they drafted Sam Bowie instead of Michael Jordan because they had Clyde Drexler. There may not be a Michael Jordan in this class, but they still need to take who they believe will be a star at the next level. With tied the best odds for the #1 pick, who should the Timberwolves target?
