Nets to Offer Gregg Poppovich Lucrative Contract

In what would be one of the biggest ‘coach free agency’ moves of all time, the Nets are apparently all in on signing Pop, according to multiple sources. One of the greatest to ever do it, adding Poppovich would instantly improve the Nets chances at winning a title within the next few seasons.

One of the main members of the Spurs dynasty of the past 2 decades, coach Pop has shown an ability to get the best out of every player on his roster, and make certain players into stars.

He kept San Antonio contending far past the prime of their team, and that bodes well for a good run in Brooklyn should they be able to acquire him.

Brooklyn certainly has the pieces to contend when healthy. They have their star duo of Kyrie and KD, aided by role players like Dinwiddie, Allen, Harris and many more.

However, realistically it will be very difficult to get coach Pop to leave the Spurs. He has only ever coached with one organization, and it will be very interesting to see whether he does sign a huge deal with the Nets. If he does, the Nets will become one of the most interesting, and dangerous teams in the league.
