Joey Chestnut demolished the competition at the Nathan’s Famous July 4th Hot Dog Eating Contest. Chestnut consumed 75 hot dogs, breaking his own world record of 74!
Chestnut described the experience as “hard,” but he knew he “was fast in the beginning”. After a blazing start, Chestnut said that around “minute six” was when he began to miss the crowd and even said that he “hit a wall” without them.
Miki Sudo was the winner in the women’s competition. Sudo also crushed the competition. Sudo ate 48.5 hot dogs and took home her 7th straight victory.
Sudo said she “feels great,” but is sure the “physical effects will kick in in a little bit”.
Nevertheless, the two won big at the Nathan’s Famous July 4th Hot Dog Eating Contest and will take home 10,000 dollars each!
