Formula 1, Austrian Grand Prix Qualifying.

Today, July 4th was the qualifying race for the Austrian Grand Prix. Formula 1 came to a halt in February due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

July 3rd was the first time the drivers had raced since February and reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton was still topping the leaderboards in practice.

Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas earned pole position by beating teammate Lewis Hamilton by 0.012 seconds. Hamilton is starting in second position, followed by Max Verstappen who has won the Austrian Grand Prix in the previous two seasons.

McLaren driver Lando Norris is starting in 4th, and Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate Alexander Albon is starting in 5th.

Ferrari racers, Charles Leclerc and Sevastian Vettel are starting in 7th and 11th positions respectively.
