On January 26th of this year we saw Kobe Bryant, one of the game’s greatest be taken right from us in a tragic helicopter crash. As we still mourn the death of Bryant and his daughter Gianna, we get some pleasant news that he will be a cover athlete on this year’s NBA 2K game according to multiple sources.
It was a terrible course of events that lead to his death, but the least we can do is mourn, and remember the legendary legacy he left behind. Bryant was not only a great basketball player, but a great husband and father.
Kobe Bryant is one of the most talented players we’ve ever seen play the game and someone many consider the greatest scorer of all-time. He racked up some impressive awards and accomplishments during his playing career. A 5 time champ, 2 time Finals MVP, a 1 time league MVP, 18 time all-star and recently inducted member of the Naismith basketball hall of fame.
According to “The Sports Rush”, Kobe Bryant will be the third of three athletes on 2K covers this season. The main cover will feature Trail Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard, and another edition will feature 2019’s first overall pick and Pelicans star Zion Williamson.
This will be Bryant’s third appearance as a cover athlete on an NBA 2K game. He was the athlete on the main cover of NBA 2K10, and was honoured as the cover athlete on the NBA 2K17 “Legends Edition” along with Paul George.
