Phoenix Suns Sign Cameron Payne

The Phoenix Suns have signed free agent guard, Cameron Payne. Payne will go to Orlando with the Suns and will be under contract for two years with them.

The Suns have had a point guard problem for years, and with the signing of Ricky Rubio the Suns seem to have improved. Payne could be the backup point guard that Phoenix needs to keep up the tempo while Rubio is on the bench and set up players like Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton to score and lead the team in points.

Payne averaged 9 points a game and 3 assists in 19 minutes of play throughout his nine games with the Cleveland Cavaliers back in the 2018/19 season, so he was not given much of a chance to show his talents. Since Phoenix is still rebuilding and trying to become what they once were, Payne could get some serious minutes for the Suns and prove himself and with mentorship from coach Monty Williams and veteran Ricky Rubio, Cameron Payne could become a crucial role player for the Phoenix Suns.
