After beating Bologna FC 2-0 this past Monday, Juventus went into this match knowing it was crucial to their race for the league title. This was an important game because with the win Juventus now go 7 points clear of Lazio and 9 points from Inter steering straight so for another Serie A title win adding more to their illustrious run on top of Italian football. For the first 20 minutes of the game, it showed that Juventus were going to dominate Lecce off of the ball, just as Lecce tried to gain an advantage Juventus was right there to strike harder. Although Lecce was able to keep the game tied 0-0 mostly due to the man behind the sticks, Gabriel, unfortunately at 31st-minute horror would strike the Lecce as veteran Fabio Lucioni would make a mistake which lands him a red card bringing the Lecce team down to 10 men. In the second half, both teams kept a solid tempo in the game until a mistake in the defense allowed Paulo Dybala to finish the ball into the net making it 1-0 in the 53rd-minute and if the night for Lecce couldn’t get any worse, at the 62nd minute a penalty was awarded against Lecce and in classic ‘CR7’ fashion, Cristiano Ronaldo stood on top scoring the 2-0 goal. Everything was going Juventus way breezing past Lecce and the night got even better for Juventus with ’El Pipita ’ Gonzalo Higuain scoring on his long-awaited return making it 3-0. It was all elementary for Juventus because they outclassed Lecce and in the last minutes Juventus’ big Summer signing from Ajax, Matthijs de Ligt tucked it to bed for Juventus giving Juve the win with a 4-0 difference.

Overall it was an amazing showing. Juventus kept a clean sheet to their name solidifying a great performance from the players. The pair of prodigies in the midfield made it very clear that the future of Juventus is in good hands as Uruguayan midfielder, Rodrigo Bentancur and local man, Federico Bernardeschi had a great game holding down the middle for the ‘Old Lady’. On top of that, there was great crossing coming from Juan Cuadrado and Douglas Costa in the second half and of course, if you talk about Juventus you can not forget to mention how crucial Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo, both men just keep improving their portfolio and their stock keeps going higher whenever these two lace up their boots everyone watching are in for a treat.
