New York Jets All-Pro safety Jamal Adams has officially requested permission to seek a trade per Rich Cimini. Adams will be entering the final year of his 4-year $22 million rookie deal and with the lack of contract talks between him and the organization it may finally come to an end.

Adams has been vocal about his frustration with the lack of a new contract as six days ago he said “A lot of talks, no action” on an Instagram rant. Adams has made it public as being arguably the best player on the team and top safety he deserves a contract extension that would make him a top-paid player in the league. According to a few sources New York has no intentions of trading Adams although this could lead to a holdout through training camp and possibly the regular season.

Last season Adams started 14 games, recorded 1 interception, 7 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 defensive touchdowns. In the three years of being a part of the Jets Adams has been named a 2x Pro-Bowler. First-team All-Pro, and Second-team All-Pro.

A team to look out for in a possible trade are the Dallas Cowboys as before the trade deadline last season there were some rumors about the Cowboys’ having high interest in Adams.
