Cain Velasquez released by WWE

Cain Velasquez was released earlier this morning by the WWE. The main reason is due to the coronavirus and employees slashing their salaries. The former UFC champion had high expectations when coming into the WWE by getting a multi year contract.

Velasquez saw some time in the square ring, but that came to an end after getting obliterated by Brock Lesnar at the WWE’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia on October 31st, 2019. Vince McMahon has looked to keep the company afloat during these times, including cutting the salaries of top executives as well as letting go a portion of their staff.

Velasquez showed potential as a wrestler despite his slaughter on Halloween. Not only has Cain been released but other notable stars like Rusev and Kurt Angle have been released due to the widespread pandemic.
