Quarterback Jameis Winston has signed a 1-year deal with the New Orleans Saints according to NFL Insider Ian Rappoport. Winston was offered better deals with other teams but decided he would rather learn from one of the best in the leagues in Drew Brees.
Winston had one of the most unique years last season becoming the first-ever player in NFL history to throw 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions leading the league in not only touchdowns but also interceptions. On the bright side, he did throw for the most yards in the NFL last season; throwing for 5,109 yards on a 60.6% completion percentage.
Winston now joined a depth chart that includes Brees, who no question will remain the starter. Winston will likely play the “Teddy Bridgewater” role in case Bress goes down in an injury. Taysom Hill will continue to play every position possible and display never-seen-before versatility.
