Todd Gurley to wear 21 for the Falcons, prime time is not happy

Todd Gurley will be looking for a completely fresh start with the Atlanta Falcons as he announced that No. 21 will be his number for the 2020 season. Despite Falcons legend Deoin Sander telling Gurley not to pick No. 21 as he wore it for the five years, he was with Atlanta.

“Prime (Sanders) was hatin’ on me. He told me don’t wear it,” Gurley said. “If I was Prime, I wouldn’t want nobody to be wearing my number either.”

Sanders would go on to say via twitter he was just joking with Gurley as he knows he will represent the number right. Since Atlanta does not retire players’ numbers Gurley isn’t the first to wear No.21 as recently released corner Desmond Trufant wore the jersey number for the last seven seasons along with many more players in previous years.

Running back Qadree Ollison is currently wearing No. 30 for the Falcons, Gurley previously wore No.30 for the last five years with the Los Angeles Rams.
