Lebron James, the kid from Akron Ohio. When people think of him they think 3x NBA Champion, 4x MVP, 16x All-Star and Future Hall of Famer. James is considered to be one of the greatest players to ever step foot on the hardwood, but did you know he could have had a career in the NFL?

While James attended St. Vincent-St. Mary high school and was the #1 ranked football prospect in the state of Ohio.

James shined on the Gridiron during his first year of football as he recorded 42 receptions, 752 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns earning him all-state honours his sophomore year of high school. During his junior year, he racked up even more impressive stats recording 60 receptions, 1,200 reception yards, and 16 touchdowns earning him scholarships from some of the top Division 1 football programs in the country.

Some of his top choices included USC, Ohio State, Miami, and Michigan but would turn them all down as his close friends made him forgo his senior year of football to focus on basketball.

“They said if I tried to step on a football field my senior year they would jump me every day for practice until I had enough.”

With James solidifying his legacy in the NBA it has many people wondering what would happen if he stuck to football. It was no doubt James would have made it the NFL with his athletic ability to be a top wideout at the professional level. Many scouts made a comparison of James and  Randy Moss who is one of the best wide receivers to play in the NFL.

Would James have had the same legacy he has in the NBA if he was in the NFL? Would he have been a Hall of Famer or go down as one of the greatest to ever do it? All we can do now is ask yourself what if Lebron chooses to continue his football career?
