Sean Payton has reportedly had COVID-19 for over a week
Sean Payton the Head Coach of the New Orleans Saints has told ESPN that he has tested positive for the Coronavirus. Payton is the first known play/coach in the NFL to have the virus that has taken the world by storm.
Ian Rapoport has reported the Saints head coach has had the virus for about 8 days and has 5 more days of confinement. Payton said he didn’t feel well this past Sunday causing him to take the test for the virus Monday the result came in today showing he has tested positive.
This is not just about social distancing. It’s shutting down here for a week or two weeks. If people understand the curve and understand the bump, we can easily work together as a country to reduce it
The NFL has taken precautionary action to prevent teams and staff from getting or spreading the virus. Commissioner Roger Goodell announced last week that the NFL’s Annual Meeting would be cancelled. The meeting was scheduled to take place from March 29- April 1st where the league would review various rule proposals submitted by teams. Goodell also announced the 2020 Draft will be held with no fans along with prohibiting pre-draft visits.
