In the first fight we saw what some think was a very controversial decision. The fight was ruled a majority draw although the majority of fans thought Golovkin did enough to earn the win.

In their rematch, we saw Canelo Alvarez hand Golovkin his first ever loss in his career. Many fans also saw this as a very lop sided decision by judges as Golovkin controlled most of the fight with his effective jab and out struck him by over 30 total punches.

Alvarez is currently scheduled to take on undefeated Billy Joe Saunders however, the fight has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.

The fight was rumoured to take place on May 2nd however, it is now targeted for some time around June before he takes on rival Gennady Golovkin.
