Devin Mccourty inks new deal with the Patriots
The Patriots just signed safety Devin McCourty to a 2 year $23 million dollar contract with $17 million guaranteed. McCourty was set to become an unrestricted free agent but New England snatched him up before the start of free agency. The deal will become official once the new league year starts Wednesday.
McCourty will now return to play with twin brother Jason McCourty who plays cornerback.
McCourty has been apart of New England since being a 1st round pick in 2010 and was a key part of the Patriots elite secondary that finished 1st in interceptions. McCourty recorded 5 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 7 pass deflections this past season with the Patriots.
The Patriots have got arguably their most consistent piece of the secondary back, now all they need is Tom Brady to re-sign, and they should look to regain their elite form.
