The Denver Broncos have acquired cornerback A.J Bouye from the Jacksonville for a 2020 4th-round pick. The trade cannot be processed until the new league year begins March 18. The Broncos acquired Bouye after reports earlier in the week of longtime Bronco cornerback C.J Harris who is a free agent, was beginning to gain interest from many teams. Harris did not rule out a reunion with the Broncos but it looks like the Broncos have decided to move on from Harris.

I’m definitely excited because Chris Harris always had good things to say about Denver.”I’m about to watch film and look at their scheme some more and really study it. It’s cornerback-friendly. The three times I played there the atmosphere and fan base was amazing

Bouye, who is 28 heads into his 4th year of his 5-year $67.5 million and is set to make $13.4 million this year. Bouye recorded 65 tackles and 1 interception in 14 games for his 2019 season in Jacksonville. Bouye’s game has declined since his spectacular 2017 that would land himself is 1st pro bowl appearance. Bouye now brings his 7-year knowledge of the NFL to a team whose average cornerback is 25 years old.

The Broncos make their first move of the off-season in efforts of boosting up their secondary and getting back to their once dangerous “No Fly Zone” secondary. The Broncos defense ranked 11th in total defense and ranked 5th in pass defense. With their secondary recording 78 pass deflections and 10 interceptions ranking 25th amongst all teams for the 2019 season.
