Deontay Wilder exercises his rematch clause
It’s been only eight days since Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder squared off for the second time, yet Wilder has already exercised his right to once again another rematch with now WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
The trilogy bout is expected to take place sometime this year, hopeful for the summer.
Deontay Wilder had some words for the press regarding former trainer Mark Breland post-fight:
I’m a warrior. I feel the same way I felt on fight night, if I have to go out I want to go out on my shield. But I understand that my corner and my team has my best interest at heart. Mark Breland is still part of team Wilder and our team looks forward to preparing for the rematch
Fury had told Yahoo Sports that he was very interested and motivated to exercise his right to a rematch with Tyson Fury.
He has now officially accepted it, and their third bout is targeted for summer 2020 according to Todd DuBoef.
