Is Jayson Tatum a Future MVP?
Tatum has arguably been the best player in the NBA for the past five games.
We all knew that Tatum was a great player. He posterized LeBron James in his rookie season and made the All-Star game this year.
After the departure of Kyrie Irving, he has thrived under Kemba Walker, averaging 23.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. Impressive stats for a 21-year-old, but nothing compared to what he’s been doing these past five games.

In his recent five games, he’s been averaging 35.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, and has been shooting 54.5% from deep. In those five games, they’ve won four, losing to the Lakers by just two points while in Los Angeles.
Tatum looked like he wasn’t going to be anything more than a border-line All-Star last season after Kyrie Irving proved to be the worst teammate in history. Well, with Kemba Walker, that changed.
Tatum and the Celtics are currently the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference, just half-a-game behind the Toronto Raptros. Tatum leads the team in scoring and has made a real case for the Most Improved Player, boosting his scoring averages by eight points on improved consistency.
It is just his third season in the league and he is only 21 years old. Tatum potenital is sky-high and he is showing it lately. He got the Player of the Week recently and with good reason. He has helped Boston win eight of their last ten. Boston won’t win the championship this year, but Tatum is just getting started.

He is a very young player and is already playing like he’s an All-Star starter. Averaging 35.4 points per game on 54.5% shooting from deep is just like Harden’s play, only he actually scores on his shots! His scoring has been huge for the Celtics and he has the talent to bring Boston another championship if they can ever get a Center. Tatum is a future superstar in this league.
He has all of the potential to be an MVP. LeBron James’s first MVP season was in 2009 where he averaged 28.4 points per game. If he can play even 80% of what he’s been doing recently, he could become a multiple-time MVP. He has the athletisicm and the talent to be a Hall-of-Famer and will become a superstar for the Celtics.
He could bring the Celtics back to glory and will become the best Boston player since Paul Pierce. Boston hasn’t won a championship since 2008, but Tatum is showing the light at the end of the tunnel.
