The Giannis-Harden beef has escalated

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Charles Barkley made headlines post All-Star draft selection after Giannis narrowed his draft selection down to Trae Young or Kemba Walker while James Harden was still available on the board and considered by many the best player on the board.

Barkley said:

You don’t want the dribbler?

Referring to Harden.

As Antetokounmpo went on with the joke, proceeding to laugh, Harden has seemingly taken offense to this shot at his game.

Rewind to 2014. James Harden and the Rockets are taking on a young Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks. Late game, James Harden commits an offensive foul. He seemed pretty upset about the foul and as he spoke to the ref about the seemingly surprising call, Antetokounmpo walked up to him and uttered a few, what looked to be disrespectful words in his ear.

James Harden would go on to push Antetokounmpo before he was swarmed by multiple teammates.

Now fast forward to the present. In a recent interview with Rachel Nichols, James Harden was asked about his past issues with Antetokounmpo.

Harden said…

I average more assists than him, I think… I don’t see what the joke is. But I wish I could just run and be 7 feet and just dunk

It seems Harden has taken a lot of offense to Giannis’ recent shots at him.

Harden doesn’t seem to want to harp on it, but wants to prove to the world that he’s not just ”the dribbler”.
