On Tuesday night the Boston Celtics were in Houston to take on Harden, Westbrook and the small ball Rockets.
The Celtics entered the game sitting at the 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 37-15. Directed by Gordon Hayward the Celtics scored 105 points, 20 of which came from Hayward. He led the team in assists dishing out 6, he grabbed 8 rebounds, all in 34 minutes. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics in rebounds grabbing 9.
The Rockets were sat at the 5th seed in the Western Conference with a record of 33-20. Russell Westbrook kept his 20+ points streak alive scoring 36 points and he got himself a double-double as he grabbed 10 rebounds. He also got 5 assists. James Harden had his 18th 40+ points game of the season with 42 in 39 minutes. He grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 7 assists. Westbrook and Harden combined for 78 points of the Rockets total 116.
The Rockets came out on top of the first matchup of the season. These teams will meet again at the end of February in Boston.
The Rockets next game is against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night in the Chase Center. The Celtics will next face the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night in Boston.
