On Monday night the Phoenix Suns were in Staples Center, Los Angeles to play the Lakers for the first of two matchups this season.

The Suns entered the game with a record of 21-33 sitting at the 13th seed in the Western Conference. The player of the game for the Suns was forward Mikal Bridges, he scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds leading the team in both these stats. The Suns were led in assists by starting guards Devin Booker and Ricky Rubio both getting 5 assists.

The Los Angeles Lakers sat at the 1st seed in the Western Conference with a record of 39-12 before the game. Forward Anthony Davis had the best night for a player on the Lakers team grabbing a double-double with 10 boards and 25 points in 31 minutes. 6th man Rajon Rondo scored 23 points in 27 minutes coming off the bench. Lebron James has 17 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds in 30 minutes.

Ultimately it was the Lakers who came out on top with a final score of 125-100 after entering the 4th quarter with a 15 point lead.

The Lakers will face the Denver Nuggets in Denver on Wednesday night and the Suns will face the Golden State Warriors in Phoenix on Wednesday night.
