Most Valuable Player

Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

Rodgers played through a knee injury most of last season and was not his usual accurate self. He is expected to bounce back this year with a new offensive system under new coach Matt LaFleur that will mesh more with the modern passing game. Aaron Rodgers will be starting off this season fully healthy and needs to stay healthy in order to win the MVP Award. Rodgers will be looking to remind the NFL this season that he’s still one of the top players in the league.

Offensive Player of the Year

Saquon Barkley, New York Giants

After winning the 2018 Offensive Rookie of the Year, Saquon is looking to pick up right where he left off by looking more comfortable in his second year in Mike Shula’s offensive system. Saquon is especially looking to get more involved in the passing game with new quarterback Daniel Jones. In only his first year in the NFl, Saquon ran for 1,307 yards and averaged 5.0 carries per yard. Saquon is predicted to lead the NFL in rushing and touchdowns this year, and if he does, he’ll most likely be guaranteed to win the Offensive Player of the Year this season.

Defensive Player of the Year

Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams

No player in NFL history has ever won Defensive Player of the Year three straight season in a row, but Aaron Donald is looking to make history. His 20.5 sacks led the league last season, and with the addition of newly signed inside linebacker Clay Mathews and free safety Eric Weddle now helping to guard the Rams’ secondary, it’s likely Donald will be given even more time to chase down quarterbacks this season. Donald is arguably the most unblockable defender in football which is why he will win Defensive Player of the Year for the 3rd straight year.

Defensive Rookie of the Year

Devin Bush, Pittsburgh Steelers

Devin Bush is only 5-foot-11 and 234 pounds making him slight for a linebacker in today’s NFL. He’s overcome that with his blazing speed, in which he clocked at 4.43 in the 40-yard dash. With his speed and the ability to quickly diagnose offensive plays, Bush overcame concerns about his size to become one of the best linebackers in the country. Bush’s size actually gave him an advantage against the pass as he was able to stick with quicker running backs and tight ends in coverage during his college days. Not only is he a tackling machine, but he is a leader on the field which makes a perfect Steeler.

Offensive Rookie of the Year

Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray might be undersized for a quarterback, but he’s a good enough play maker to elevate guys around him even. His ability to run and pass the ball is elite and his athletic ability is something every team would want in their franchise quarterback. While he hasn’t played a down in the regular season, he looked great in his only drive so far this preseason, going 6 of 7 for 44 yards. He looked sharp, energized and not in over his head.

Comeback Player of the Year

Earl Thomas, Baltimore Ravens

Earl Thomas may have ended his 2018 regular season with an unfortunate injury, but he’s now ready to make a splash once again. At age 30, he’s still young enough to recover and get back to something close to his best. Thomas is a hard-hitting safety with a nose for the ball, and the Ravens will benefit from that. Back on a team with a dominant defense, Thomas is going to be looked at to not only teach some of the younger members of the Ravens, but to carry the defense now. He’s certainly a player to watch for the upcoming season, as he’ll be eager to remind the NFL that he’s still one of the top safeties in the league.

Coach of the Year

Frank Reich, Indianapolis Colts

After shocking news that Andrew Luck retired from the NFL, Frank Reich must now work with what he has. Frank won the 2018 AFC Coach of the Year which was well deserve after leading the Colts to the playoffs. Odds are against the Colts this season as they must coordinate there offense around new Quarterback Jacoby Brissett. You can never count out Reich though with all his accomplishment, and will certainly be looking to capture a playoff spot this season.
